Going by "Nate," a shortened version of his middle name, Nate is the managing attorney and president of Richards Law.
Nate was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2017 and is licensed to practice in the United States Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas and the United States Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas Bankruptcy Courts.
Prior to graduating law school, Nate gained legal experience in corporate, real property, and oil & gas law. He assisted in litigation at the Texas Attorney General’s Office and in developing policy stances for the Texas Legislature. Now, his focus is on creating innovative ways to protect and enforce his client's rights and assets.
Nate graduated from Rice University with a BA in History in December of 2013 and graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law with a J.D. in May of 2017. Having played football in undergrad, Nate is naturally an avid sports fan. A big supporter of DFW area sports, you are likely to see him at a Rangers, Cowboys, or Mavs game.
Nate and his wife Whitney are blessed with three amazing children, their son Graham and daughters Margaret and Lane.
Also, going by a shortened version of his middle name, Max Smith is in an of counsel position with Richards Law assisting in civil litigation, real estate issues, and probate matters.
Max was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2018 and practiced with another Fort Worth law firm before opening his own practice. In addition to the State of Texas, Max is licensed in the United States District Court of the Northern District of Texas.
Max was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended Arlington Heights High School, graduating in 2010. From there Max traveled to Georgetown, Texas where he completed his undergraduate degree at Southwestern University graduating in 2013.
Following his undergraduate studies, Max went out west to Lubbock, Texas where he obtained an M.B.A. from the Texas Tech Rawls College of Business in 2014 and a J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2018.
When he is not at the office, you can often find Max rooting on the Arlington Heights Yellow Jackets and the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs baseball, basketball, and football teams.
Alexander Ricco is in an of counsel position with Richards Law. He is a proud SMU Alumni and a graduate of the Dedman School of Law, Class of 2019. Since graduating, Alex spent two years as an Associate Attorney at Henley and Henley Law, PC where he practiced general litigation and real estate transactions.
Notably, Alex has litigated over 60 eviction and foreclosure cases, and has worked on numerous residential real estate transactions. He also has extensive experience working with Section 8 and low-income housing compliance matters. Other achievements include litigating breach of contract matters and enforcing contracts for sale, as well as handling uncontested divorces, probate matters, and drafting wills and other real estate related documents and contracts.
Alex also takes pride in having practiced in courts all across Texas. Counties in which he has experience practicing include Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Ellis, Parker, Cooke, Hunt, Bowie, Harris, Lamar, Rockwall, and Denton. Alex values clients in all parts of the great state of Texas, and enthusiastically takes cases in areas other attorneys often overlook.
In his free time, Alex is a starting forward for the Texas Rugby Union’s Dallas Harlequins Division 1 squad. He does so after enjoying a successful college rugby career at SMU. He is also an enthusiastic supporter of SMU athletics, as well as the DFW area professional sports teams.
